In September 2018, we will be unwinding in the paradise isle of Sri Lanka, often referred to as the pearl of the Indian Ocean. Sri Lanka is renown for her pristine beaches, lush tropical mountains, coconut groves and a rich ayurvedic tradition pervading through food, lifestyle, spirituality, art and beauty culture. Join us as we share our local knowledge and expertise to take you on a journey to explore the South Coast of Sri Lanka for 9 days of healing, grounding, rejuvenating and blissing out.
Take a trip
to a paradise
Fly into Colombo and you’ll be greeted at the airport and transported by private coach to our first stop to unwind from the plane journey. This is a beautiful hotel designed by the famous architect Geoffrey Bawa, featuring airy open corridors, a lush spa and set right on the beach. Take your time to unwind – get foot rub or head massage, read a book in the gardens, have a dip in the pool or beach, try some delicious Sri Lankan meals. We’ll spend the day unwinding and set off rested and relaxed in private luxury coach to the lush 6 acre estate for the rest of our stay.
Here, we’ll have:
Early morning yoga, to start the day revitalised, stretching and unwinding the body and massaging the internal organs. Open to all levels of yogis. We’ll have a couple of sessions running at the same time so you can select the class you feel like on the day.
Daily guided pranayama (breathing), meditations or satsangs at sunrise and sunset. With continuous practice over a few days you will start to notice a shift in your energy, your state of mind and a deep sense of peace, clarity and calm set in. Ayurvedic massages, sunset spa treatments and singing bowl therapy.
Seasonal produce and meals all fresh and locally sourced.
A cooking class with a local Sri Lankan Chef.
Bonfire nights and a fire ceremony.
A live ‘calypso’ music performance in the gardens – this is classic island music, originating in the Afro Caribbean region and finding its way to Sri Lanka through historical trade routes. The music is light and uplifting, sung with a guitar and with lyrics around stories of everyday life and relationships.
Guided excursions such as a leisurely boat trip along the ‘Madu’ River, visits to local farmers markets to sample and purchase produce, a trip to the city of Galle to visit the famous Dutch fort built in the 1600s, and now a bustling bazaar of shops, boutique hotels, cafes and cobblestone streets.
Wide, open private gardens with sweet fresh air for stillness, downtime and unwinding.
A few other surprises!
